ADDITIONAL CAR INFORMATION

1970 GT500 #2490 - A note we received from the owners!

Hi NVSAAC,

I saw your " wanted " article in the Snakebite Bulletin and thought I would send over a couple of pictures of our Shelby. The VIN is OFO2R482490 .

Colin and I live in Sydney, Australia and  as well as driving our Shelby to Club events, runs and Shows, Colin also races it regularly on the race tracks in time trials, go-to whoas, historic events etc. These photos were taken in Brisbane . The race photo is at Lakeside Race track where Colin won second place in the sprints and second place in the overall combined sprint and 1/4 mile drag time trials. The display photo is the next day at the same event where the Shelby won 3rd place in it's category. Recently at the " All American Day " in Sydney organized by the Mustang Owners Club of Australia , the Shelby won the " Top Muscle Car " trophy.

We also own Australian Musclecars, i.e  1978 Falcon Cobra, Ford XB GT Coupe and 1997 EL GT 30th Anniversary Model Ford. We love our cars and get a lot of enjoyment out of driving them on the road ( and track )

and also keeping them in "show condition " .

The movie " Gone in Sixty Seconds " was a big hit over here and really publicized the "Shelby "

name and image to a much wider population than previously. Children now come up to the car and say " Wow, it's a Shelby ", though we have had one blissfully ignorant driver pull up beside us on the motorway and say " I really like your car - what is it , a Chev !! "

Best wishes from " down under "    Kim and Colin Broadbent

1970 GT500 #3283 - A note we received from the owners!

Here is a photo of our 1970 GT 500 convertible VIN 0F03R483283.
It is a SAAC Premier car, pages 1124, 1220 and 1225 in the 1997
Registry.
It is also a multiple Gold thoroughbred winner in MCA. It has won many
"Best of Show" awards, including 2 at local Shelby meets.
.
It is has a 4-speed, 3.5 Traction Lok, AM-FM stereo and tinted glass. It
has all the changes made to late big-blocks: F70X15 tires and heavy-duty
suspension. It is one of the few that was converted to a 1970 model by
Ford at the Kar-Kraft facility.
It is the 12th car from the last Shelby, probably made in the last week
of production.
It is the only 1970 GT 500 4-speed in Black Jade with a white interior.
